Former Mayor Ed Koch, 87, waves as he leaves New York-Presbyterian Columbia Universtiy Medical Center, where he spent four days having been admitted with anemia.

Former Mayor Ed Koch checked out of the hospital Friday, four days after he was admitted with anemia.

?I?m a very lucky guy,? Koch told the Daily News after his release.

Koch checked into New York Presbyterian Hospital Tuesday. He underwent quadruple bypass surgery at the same hospital three years ago.

?They were of course concerned so they checked me to see that all the arteries in my heart were open and thank God they are,? he said. ?I?m in good shape.?

When Koch got home, he was delighted to find a call on his machine from Secretary of State Hillary Clinton wishing him well, he said.

?It was such a sweet call,? he said. ?I?m happy.?

The hospital stay didn?t interfere with Koch?s ability to release his weekly movie reviews.

?

The ex-mayor, who blasts reviews to his email list, gave the thumbs up Premium Rush, which he called ?a light, fun movie that will probably become a cult flick.?

He also praised Little White Lies but complained that subtitles kept fading in and out so he may have missed some of the French dialog.

He said he wrote the reviews last weekend.
